Vintage 1940 -1950's Fire Helmet Bellevue Wisconsin With Leather Shield B. F. D.

Vintage 1940 - 1950's Fire Helmet Bellevue Wisconsin.
This black colored fire helmet was used in the 1940's and 1950's. This helmet is toughly designed by an unknown manufacturer (as it doesn't have any labels) to withstand wear and the elements.
The helmet features the leather front plate  with leather letters "  B F D "   showing the initials of the Bellevue Fire Department.
The fire helmet does show wear from many years of hardwork and is sold as is. To get the best idea of the condition please see all photos and read the full description.  The fire helmet features inner lining intact but strap shows some wear. This helmet is easily displayed in a showcase or on a mannequin. It even could be displayed on the wall!  The helmet features a small hook for which the firefighters would use to hang their helmets when not in use.
Overall this is a great historic piece worthy of any firefighting collection. The helmet may also be perfect for a Wisconsin collector or any other collector.
